The Southern Group was founded by Tommy Dobson in 1975 with the help of his wife, a Realtor, Sissy Dobson. Tommy is a native born Tennessee resident, a Georgia Tech Alumni, a retired professional bull rider, and a surveyor by trade. While working as a surveyor Tommy saw the vast potential of the land along the Cumberland Plateau where all of these communities are located.

The Chattanooga area will have a new Water Park.
I just heard that developers are planning a new water park in East Ridge, TN just south of Chattanooga, TN. They should start development in January and be ready to open in May 2008. This water park will be just 30 minutes from The Preserve at Rising Fawn.
