Gainesville

Gainesville, the county seat of Hall County, is an outdoor enthusiast's dream.  The city is located about 50 miles northeast of the city of Atlanta and is also surrounded by Lake Lanier.  At the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Gainesville offers many outdoor activities. In 2013 BoatU.S. magazine named Gainesville as one of the "10 Great Boating Towns: To Retire + Play + Thrive!".

Gainesville, the largest city in Hall County, is also a large business hub for the area.  The largest employer currently in Gainesville is the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Poultry farming is also a large industry for the city- it has been dubbed the “Poultry Capital of the World”. Other large distribution and banking facilities are in Gainesville like The William Wrigley Company.

Gainesville is also home to several higher education institutions. The University of North Georgia, Brenau University, and the Interactive College of Technology call Gainesville home.
